Classifications & Definitions

Capsolve classifies selected characteristics of the categories we cover in our research. We do this to streamline our communication and standardize how we discuss categories and the metrics that define their similarities and differences. Here are the most common classifications you will find in our research:

Classifications: Category Size (Number of solutions in category)
  • Small 1 – 49 solutions
  • Medium 50 to 99 solutions
  • Large 100 – 199 solutions
  • Super >200 solutions
Classifications: Category Geographical Dispersion (Number of solutions in Top 5 Countries / Total Solutions)
  • Low 0.75 – 1.00
  • Medium 0.50 – 0.74
  • High 0.01 – 0.49
Classifications: Requirements Complexity (Number of requirements)
  • Low 1 to 75
  • Medium 76 to 149
  • High >150

Definitions

Requirements: Needs identified by a business that describe what it wants to accomplish.

Capabilities: May describe either a business’ functional abilities or a product or service’s functionality.

Features: Specific functionality built into a product or service that may be described in terms of what a product or service does.
