This report analyzes the happenings in the S&C category of solutions for the benefit of all of our industries of coverage.  This category consists of vendors of all sizes with a limited number of large, mature solution providers and is classified as Small based on the number of companies it contains.  The research identified three (3) primary styles – Traditional S&C, S&C Module, Catering Solution.

While many countries were represented by at least one vendor located within their borders, more than half were headquartered within the United States.  As a result, the dispersion across countries was found to be Low.  The United Kingdom, Australia and Canada made up the remaining countries in the top 4.

As it relates to buyers of S&C solutions, the needs most serviceable with the vendors’ software products include managing Meeting and Event Room Inventory, the Sales Management, Group Reservation information and BEOs as expected.  Modular functionality is not intertwined as much with this category due to its specific nature, but more recently Venue Management and Group Booking Engines are starting to appear as complementary components.  Capsolve defines the requirements complexity level of this category as Low, which primarily reflects the consistent functionality and PMS-focused integration needs in addition to other implementation factors.
